Group Therapy
Group therapy is a type of therapy where clients can gain support from peers, increase self-awareness in relation to others, and learn from other group members’ experiences. For these reasons, participating in group therapy can be one of the most transformative experiences that psychotherapy can provide. Group therapy can be effective for individuals who would like to achieve personal growth in a variety of areas related to interpersonal functioning, acceptance, trust, assertiveness, conflict, vulnerability, and risk-taking. Group therapy can also be helpful for individuals working through issues related to depression, anxiety, and adjustment issues. Groups are small (8 people or less), and I facilitate groups along with an experienced co-therapist (either Dr. Maria Thestrup or Dr. Ron Del Moro).
